DaleSteyn1 Posted May 26, 2015 Report Posted May 26, 2015 The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced today that, effective May 26th, the agency "…will temporarily suspend premium processing for all H1B Extension of Stay petitions until July 27, 2015." Further, premium processing fees will be refunded for any H1B extension case filed before May 26, 2015, if the USCIS fails to act on the case within the requisite 15-calendar-day period. The purpose of this temporary suspension of premium processing for H1B extensions is to "…allow USCIS to implement the [H-4 EAD rule] … in a timely manner and adjudicate applications for employment authorization filed by H-4 nonimmigrants under the new regulations." Please note that this temporary suspension of premium processing will only apply to petitions requesting an extension of H1B status.
