lol ba. i'm surprised telugus can understand this movie, and appreciate it.

 

it has too many references to tamil political history, which telugus cannot identify.

 

its natural for telugus to find this movie boring, by and large.

 

yeah theatres lo aadaledu kani.... it's close reflection of ntr's political career with few differences....like how he rose to power.....and mani is one magical story teller....so cant miss it.....

I mean.....originally MGR edo party lo join ayyadu kada....then eventually his own party pettadu...where as NTR stepped into the establishment (TDP) of N. bhaskar rao and took over it with his charisma.....

For Ntr, everything happened so fast, he was never into active politics while he was doing films

ee cinema ke, he lost his money, and probably would've lost his life, if he explored karunanidhi a little more closely.

 

the cinema was a flop. kaani just oka 3-4 yrs later, almost everybody in Chennai atleast agrees that it is maniratnam's best movie. rest of TN doesn't care much about mani, obviously.
