I think power, especially to industries is overrated. Chennai itself had 2hrs power cut for domestic consumers. ofcourse, I didn't feel it, because generator, etc. industries aithe power holidays for one day a week on rotating basis. only for small and medium industries maatrame. but did production go down in that time? I spoke to several industrialists, who privately agree that power is not a big issue at all, if the market demand is strong. their profit margin may be less, but its still better to keep the machines running. Govt power doesn't keep it running - they can always buy power from the open market at slightly higher prices. market demand does. fcuk cbn, kcr, jaya, everyone and their decisions. if the market is good, power is not a big deal. as far as dying farmers.. are you sure they died because of lack of power to water their crops? Then the problem is not power, but high interest loans that farmers are forced to take from local loan sharks. I'm interested to know if you think that isn't the case. without getting offended.
