Vijayawada, a land of success literally, did indeed play mother to numerous successful people. And we know that! 
 
Having said that, a certain someone has added a massive feather to that already colourful hat. Meet Padmasree Warrior, one of the most powerful women in the world according to Forbes. She made it into the list of The World’s 100 Most Powerful Women. And there are some things you need to know about this amazing woman, apart from the fact that she was born and brought up in Vijayawada.
 
1. Currently Cisco’s Chief Technology and Strategy Officer, she is one of the heads of an organization that makes a revenue of $47 billion dollars. 
 

 
2. Wonder how she keeps her calm despite having so much on her hands? She takes 20 minute breaks to meditate!
 

 

3. Being one of the very few women in the Tech industry when she began her career, she works towards making empowering a larger community: women in technology.
 

 
4. Despite being tagged in the Technology industry in the Forbes list she actually studied Chemical Engineering in college. Another example to the fact that college doesn’t decide anything. 
 

 

5. She planned to stay at Motorola for 12 months, and left 23 years later. The company was awarded the prestigious 2004 National Medal of Technology and Innovation during her tenure there, the first time in the organization’s history.
 

 

6. All tech and geek aside, she is a beautiful painter and keeps her artistic side alive… by posting her work on Twitter. (Oh and BTW, Obama follows her on Twitter!) Meanwhile take a look at her painting!
 

 
7. Painting isn’t her only artistic interest. She served on the board of Chicago’s Joffrey Ballet, a prestigious institution of dance ballet.
