no one is asking others to follow it. This is not instant noodles to expect permanent change right away.

 

talking about one's own caste, especially the privileges of it allows the lower caste guy to feel comfortable, and be confident of being in the right company.

 

ofcourse the same can be achieved by totally avoiding discussion on caste. But the reality outside your little group is rather different. And expecting the lower caste fellow to not talk about his issues outside your group is rather harsh, don't you think?

 

so, if you are caste free, its awesome. but not everyone is so. so until atleast majority of them are like you, it makes sense to rake it up.
