Spartan Posted June 3, 2015 Report Posted June 3, 2015 Hyderabad: IT giant Amazon will be setting up its largest Fulfilment Centre (FC) in Hyderabad while Google has already decided to set up its largest campus outside of US in the city. A mobile company will also be establishing its manufacturing facility in Hyderabad soon. While these are some of the achievements of the government in the last one year, Telangana IT minister K.T. Rama Rao said that within the next five years, the state government has set a target of reaching Rs 1,20,000 crore investment in the sector. Among the new initiatives are an MSME tower in Gachibowli, an IT Park around Medchal with space for IT companies and housing within the park. Speaking about TASK (Telangana Academy for Skills and Knowledge), the minister said that with its help students would be trained in the latest emerging technologies and this would increase their employability quotient at the time of passing out. Meanwhile, a cyber training academy to be set up in Hyderabad is currently being planned given the ever increasing challenge of cyber security. Also, the IT department plans to train 15,000 youth over the next four years for the ESDM (Electronic System Design and Manufacturing) sector. Two electronic manufacturing clusters of 900 acre, close to the ORR and the Shamshabad airport, are being planned. “Among the new initiatives being taken up are data analytics, big data, cyber security, Internet of Things and drone technology.” the minister said. “Cyber security is becoming a bigger challenge with each passing day and therefore we are working on setting up a Cyber Training Academy in the state, he said, adding, “We have requested University of Stanford, US to work with us in developing the academy. Also, eminent persons like Dr V.K. Saraswat and institutes like Dr C.R. Rao Advanced Institute of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science are helping us with the academy. Drone technology is also something we are looking into, among some of the breakthrough technologies.”
