zoloto Posted June 9, 2015 Report Posted June 9, 2015 Let's find out what was underneath our ancients friends' outer clothes. The inhabitants of what is now Mesopotamia often mentioned their underwear in their writings. On the island of Crete, it seems that the people of the Minoan culture weren't big on covering up. Later Greeks still loved quality undergarments. In ancient Rome women wore a strophium or mamillare. It was basically an early bra, made from cotton, leather, or linen. The ancient Egyptians, both male and female, wore loincloths, made of pieces of cloth – maybe even gazelle skin - sewn together and banded by leather.
