On her high school graduation day, Canadian student Erinne Paisley decided she would use the opportunity to help spread awareness on education initiatives around the world.

Paisley accomplished this task by wearing her old math homework.

 

 

According to CBC News, Paisley decided to donate the money she would have ordinarily spent on a graduation dress to the Malala Fund.

The fund was co-founded by 17-year-old Malala Yousafzai, a Pakistani activist and Nobel Peace Prize winner. Its mission is to empower girls around the world "through quality secondary education to achieve their potential and inspire positive change in their communities."

Yousafzai's work and dedication served as an inspiration for Paisley.

"Being in the same room as her and everything was so touching, and I was inspired to an extent I can't even describe," Paisley told CBC in regards to seeing Yousafzai speak at the 2014 We Day event in the UK.

Paisley's dress was made out of math assignments with the phrases, "I've received my education. Not every woman has that right" and "Malala.org" written in bold and red.

On a Gobid site, Paisley is working to attract bids for her creatively homework-designed dress to give 100 percent of the proceeds to the Malala Fund.

She writes:

"The only goal of this auction is to help raise more awareness and more funds for an incredible organization that helps young girls gain access to an education.
