Dear Mr. Chandrababu Naidu a.k.a The Faux Showman,

I was watching Dil Dhadakne Do the other day and I realized what you and Zoya Akhtar have in common- both of you can distract people with overly glitzy ideas while you sell heavy bullshit underneath. As it is the folly of our pawn-like lives, we will never talk about anything unless it’s trending. So we’re always helpless and desperate at our worst moment, and you use it to your advantage.

But this time, I’m not going to wait till people start panicking about THIS before I blow the whistle on your “grand plans”. Because the food shortage is coming, the STARVATION is coming regardless of how much money protects us, and you’ll be the only man responsible for it. The people need to know what you’re up to so that they at least have the chance to prevent it- not that you will let them.

I know very well what your formula for “Development” is. And you haven’t bothered to refine your sensitivity in defining it. “Development” just doesn’t mean that you make a Singapore- which has always been your dream. Of course it’s not a bad thing. Except you’ll leave us with nothing to eat. And this is how-

So, for quite sometime, the cauldron of Seemandhra Vs. Telangana has been boiling and it seems to have spilled over last week with a TDP leader getting caught in a Cash for Votes scandal. He then ended up pointing a finger right at the supreme maestro of Development and the chief de la chief of “Progress”- which is you, Mr. Chandrababu Naidu.

Let me tell you what kind of an image you have. As a kid in Andhra Pradesh before it was split, I always thought that you were a man of super powers. You transformed the entire city of Hyderabad into a cyber-hub and ushered in Acche Din even before Acche Din was a concept. In 2004, I expected you to win with a thumping majority as India was shining for me. It was awesome I could work in a call center and make a cool 10 grand at the age of 16, I could watch movies on the largest screen in the world at IMAX, take a stroll on the glittery Necklace road, or have a fun ride at NTR park. Overall, life felt good and YOU stood as a vanguard of MY progress, but alas you lost the elections.

I was told back then that your ultra-modern ways never really gelled with the people at the grass root level. The farmers rejected your IT and the government hated your totalitarian work methods. You were a great showman but a TERRIBLE administrator. And I realize that now, and how!

When you rose back in 2014 in the divided Seemandhra, I was even more excited with what was happening. I was even jealous of my friends from Vizag as I felt that their city would become more awesome than Hyderabad. You announced that you will be providing 10 mbps broadband connections at Rs. 150 to all the households in Andhra Pradesh. I mean, how cool is that? Then you also said that though in a deficit, your state had spent 40,000 crores to fight poverty.

And people were suddenly praising you. But seriously- what the hell is wrong with you?! We don’t eat broadband or IT products. We eat food! You on your ambitious plan to set up the most Hi-tech capital in the country, have acquired over 33000 acres of FERTILE LAND from farmers. The land you have acquired is a multi-crop land and produces over ONE HUNDRED different crops a year.

Let me break it down for you, Mr. Naidu- The total cultivated land in the world is 13 million square kilometers. Of that, an entire 1.5 million square kilometers are in India. You know what that means? It means we feed more than 16% of the world’s population at about 10 % of land use. Even a drooling idiot would tell you than acquiring 125 square kilometers of cultivable land in the most fertile region of the country, that too right by the Krishna river, is not just sheer stupidity but extreme dumba**ery on your part.

We are not a Singapore, we are an agrarian state. I don’t know if you realize this, but not many places in this degenerating planet have the privilege of having the most fertile soil and the necessary irrigation naturally. The super-city you are planning will destroy the land, pollute the water and finally kill the farmer.

The land that you have acquired will belch water if you dig just 30 feet. What skyscrapers will you build on it? How are you going to make up for the food shortage you will cause, just because you want to expand your capital? You own a food retail store yourself- what would be left to sell in those stores if you DON’T HAVE FOOD?? And finally, why are you being a bloody Tughlaq? These are questions you better have answers for.

India is a growing country and if you want to advocate the idea that we need to stay hungry and stay foolish, you have chosen the “best” way by taking away fertile land. BPO’s and ITEs can make you some money in the short run but will not help you in the long run. Most importantly, Singapore, our “model” city is now trying to innovate ways for improving its food security. They don’t have enough land to produce food, and you on the other hand with the capability to produce food are destroying it. I really appreciate your infinite wisdom.

Just because you got rid of Telangana and have your own Andhra Pradesh, it doesn’t mean you treat it like the toy you don’t share. Stop being a 4-year-old and get your grey head out of the place where the sun doesn’t shine. This is not just YOUR Andhra Pradesh. This is about the whole country. Do you want to starve India for the sake of a fancy capital?

At least have the sense to find land elsewhere, because I’m telling you- you can’t feed hard-disks to your grandchildren.
