Before Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 10, National Security Adviser Ajit Doval had sought the details of Mr Naidu’s involvement in the cash-for-vote case  from Anti-Corruption Bureau director-general A.K. Khan.

 

A source said, “Before meeting with Mr Naidu, Mr Modi had sought details and the NSA called up Mr Khan and asked for the details regarding the case. The Prime Minister had all details regarding the case when Mr Naidu met him. The ACB chief had briefed Mr Doval about the authenticity of the operation and clear evidence in the case.”

 

Meanwhile, the ACB has decided to question Telugu Desam MLC candidate Vem Narender Reddy who would have been the ultimate beneficiary in the scam.

“Narender Reddy was the TD MLC candidate for whom the nominated MLA was bribed. Under the Prevention of Corruption Act, the ultimate beneficiary is also supposed to be booked. He will definitely have knowledge about the crime. We will serve notices to him and question him,” said an ACB official.
