This does come true for a number of students.For those who have tried and not been able to secure a job a few pointer's from the company's point of view. 1. Companies do not want to invest in a full time resource unless they are sure they plan to keep him/her in the long run. sometimes they have requirements for some month's to do a specific project. 2. They do not want to get hassled by H1 filing and the proceedings with the lawyers. That is why companies use consultancies to fulfill their open requirements as they are not bound to hire the candidates full time, neither are they expected to do H1 filing for those candidates. They get their work done without the hassle.In return the consultancy files for the candidates H1. By the time the H1 comes the company where he/she is contracting can decide if they want to take that consultant full time or no. If not the consultant now hopefully an H1, will be able to find the 2nd project easily and has a better chance of full time opportunity once H1 is acquired.If you are OPT, please take your 90 day rule very seriously. If you have not secured a job and have an offer letter by day 60, plan to join an E-Verified consultancy.E-Verify is very important, over the years I have seen students trying to get into PhD or return to their country since they were not able to provide the letter of employment or training with an E-Verified company on time. In a nut shell consultancy should be after you have actively tried to secure a job on your own, they should not be your first preference, but practicality is important. The main aim for you should be to start working and earning. Keep your focus and the world is at your door.
