Spartan Posted June 26, 2015 Report Posted June 26, 2015 More than 30 hardcore rebels of anti-talk faction of NDFB, including its military commander B. Bidai, who were responsible for the massacre of 89 innocent adivasis in December are running for shelter in the Manas Tiger Reserve of Assam. Disclosing that five NDFB cadres including M. Mogai, the personal assistant of military commander could not sustain the mounting pressure of the security forces and surrendered before the Army in two separate batches, sources said that intercepts of NDFB communication network has confirmed that group was without food for the last three days. Indicating that they are surviving by hunting wild animals and collecting wild fruits for food, security sources said that another group of NDFB rebels holed up in Myanmar was also in distress and facing pressure of paying a debt of more than a crore for food for their cadres. In view of increased pressure of the security forces, the NDFB cadres are confined to their hideouts in Myanmar and reluctant to cross over to India. Informing that the entire supply line of NDFB has been disrupted and their survival is getting difficult inside the wild forest, security sources said that the Army was closing in on gang of 30 NDFB rebels which includes 12 area commanders and 18 hardcore cadres. Pointing out that some non-cadres are also the part of the group, changing their hideouts everyday, security sources said that Bidai escaped an Army trap few days back while trying to collect a consignment of 500 kg of rice from a courier point at Kahi Koma a remote village in Western Assam. Informing that Army has succeeded in destroying at least five courier points which were supplying ration to NDFB cadres in the wild forest, security sources said that flow fund to the outfit has also dried up. Indicating that the Army and the police are mounting pressure on insurgents to surrender, sources, referring the confession of two surrendered militants, said that NDFB commanders are afraid of their cadres deserting them so they have decided to move in groups only.http://idrw.org/assam-army-corners-30-ndfb-rebels/
