Mumbaikars have always been proud of their safe city tag and their policing authorities have a major part to play in cultivating that reputation. Although, this faith was shaken majorly in August 2013, when the news of the Shakti Mills rape case first broke. The survivor, a 22 year old photojournalist, was gangraped by five men, including a juvenile, when she'd gone to cover a work assignment at the abandoned mills. Her accompanying journalist was tied up by the accused before they raped her and shot pictures of her to be used for threatening later.

The incident caused a massive uproar in the society and brought the police force to action. All the five accused were arrested by the Mumbai Police in about 65 hours after the complaint was registered. Now, almost two years after the incident, a video by Vibha Bakshi features the involved police authorities presenting their side of the story after the rape was reported. The video portrays these officials in a more real light than ever before, especially when they talk about having the same reaction as each one of us did.

Feel a bit of pride today, with this video which features Mumbai Police officials telling us that they'll never let their city and its reputation down.
