The effect of the storm cyclone ‘Laila’ has been quite devastating and now the counting has begun to get an idea of how much damage has been caused. While the agricultural sector has been smashed big time, here is an important landmark that got uprooted completely.

This has happened in Bheemili and we are talking about a ‘Marrichettu’. This tree holds a lot of significance for the Telugu cine buffs and the locals since it is the same tree which was seen in the Black & White ‘Maro Charitra’ which had Kamal Haasan and Saritha in the lead.

Both write their names Balu-Swapna on that tree and now, due to Laila, the entire tree got uprooted and got washed away. This is a truly a big blow in terms of Tollywood history and the impact was so strong that NTV came up with a special program with a tragedy score and causing further pain. Sad but true…
