VizagRocks Posted June 28, 2015 Report Posted June 28, 2015 Ippude Modi fb update chusa..abdul Kalam's new book anta.. Emanna idea vunda? Transcendence My Spiritual Experiences with Pramukh Swamiji. By Abdul Kalam I do not read Indian authors who write in english, unless its about colonial times. Even without reading the book, we can magine a hindi/tamil conversation that took place in the writer's world, which the writer is forced to recreate in English. One needs to be an excellent writer to make it work. I couldn't read beyond the first 10 pages of Kalam's earlier book, wings of fire. My father somehow thought it was appropriate for him to gift it to me. lol.
VizagRocks Posted June 28, 2015 Report Posted June 28, 2015 It is a bit like listening to manufactured Telugu/Tamil words at an evangelist meeting. unless you are part of the cult, better to stay away from it.
VizagRocks Posted June 28, 2015 Report Posted June 28, 2015 Indians should stick to writing manuals and self help books in English. and novels in their language.

VizagRocks Posted June 28, 2015 Report Posted June 28, 2015 read Arundathi Roy, Amitav Ghosh to see how much they struggle to write excellently. and these people got booker prizes. I wonder how. Kalam doesn't even have that kind of vocabulary. and definiitely not a good editor. He writes excellently in Tamil though.
