Naa Friend okariki OPT expire ayyindi June-22nd, but OPT-extention ki applied and got the receipt letter from USCIS, status inka process lone undi..Ippudu thana Uncle expire ayyaru, she wants to travel to India and come back in two weeks...with expired OPT card and USCIS receipt letter for OPT-extention...Is it safe....malli return lo POE lo problems??

This is  a bit tough situation......first valla school dso ki inform chesthe she may get details ...like just i-20 chalu aa or else pakka opt extension card undali ana

 

and inkokati processing lo unnapudu many suggest its not safe to travel but request dso take a letter and see whats the formalaties are......

 

 

if someone knows more information plz help....

If STEM Extension Application is pending

• Travel is NOT allowed after the 12 month OPT has expired and while the STEM Extension EAD is pending
• Travel is permitted if you have a valid 12 month EAD card for re-entry along with the documents listed below.

 

1. A valid passport with unexpired F-1 visa stamp
2. Form I-20, signed on the bottom of page 3 by an International Student Advisor at Berkeley International Office within the preceding 6 months
3. Unexpired EAD Card
4. Proof of employment (or employment offer)

without CARD in hand....it is not good to travel.

 

POE ppl want evidences not receipts or pendings letters..

 

oka pani cheyochu...she can go..now without CARD..

then CARD will come in few weeks...then tht CARD can be posted to her....and she comes into US with CARD as her reason.

but this is a risky step...bcoz opt extn rfe paditey rod
