From 815 rank in 2010 to topping UPSC in 2015, it has not been a very easy journey

for Ira Singhal, 30. Her vivacious and spirited personality easily camouflages the 62

per cent locomotor disability that she suffers from but that has not stopped Ira from

dreaming big and achieving it. -  

 

 

 

Preparing for UPSC again in the last four years was the easiest part because on the

other side she was waging a tough battle in the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT)

after the Revenue Department refused to accept her following her allotment to the

Indian Revenue Service in 2010, citing her “inability to pushing, pulling and lifting’’.
