The Sunday Standard investigation into the foundations’ activities in India that goes back to the 1950s throw up some startling facts. ■ The Ford and Rockefeller foundations had penetrated the Indian establishment without any government oversight. ■ It gave junkets and scholarships to senior government officials in the Nehru administration without clearance from the Indian government. ■ These officials were directly selected by the Ford and Rockefeller foundations without the knowledge of the government. ■ B K Nehru, Indira Gandhi’s cousin and the Commissioner General for Economic Affairs of Indian Embassy in Washington, advised against insistence on clearance of the funds by the Rockefeller Foundation to government employees after a meeting with its President Dean Rusk. ■ Rusk told the government that only consultations (and not approval) with the Department of Economic Affairs would be necessary before it funded bureaucrats and others. ■ Appalled at the storm brewing in his government against the foundations’ blatant efforts to woo government officials, Nehru denied he had given the necessarily approval. However, he had to backtrack after a note was shown to him, which made it obvious that the opposite was true.

These guys are the legends not just for US but but everything we see and enjoy is becuase of them. These are the men who made America what it is today. They are no laofers either, the combined networth of rockefeller, JPmoran and Carnegie back then was worth $1 trillion dollars of todays equivalabt or 1% of world economy each or in today's world equivalent to 40 leading billionaires of the world. There is a history for these foundations and not true saying that these are CiA backed. When JPMorgan died the stock market was shutdown in his honor which only happens when a president in office dies. Rockefeller and Carnegie who were JPmorgan contemporaries were ruthless and they made industries out of nothing like standars oil corporation and US steel and also killed all the competitors, then they were facing a lot of heat from US federal court for anti trust issues and were eventually shutdown. In their latter periods of their life and JPmorgans death made them remorse and each announced their entire fortune for a charity. From then it has been continuing as legacy for multi billionaires to donate weatlh for a cause and people like Ford, and even lately bill gates, buffet followed the suite. Coming to Nehru, it was baucase of his nonaligned nature we were saved otherwise it was Pakistan has been knocking on US doors since 1950's and hence how USA remained their official sponsor todate.
