Putting all existing box office records in India to shame, SS Rajamouli's epic on-screen sagaBaahubali has set the cash registers on fire. The film opened to massive earnings and packed houses all across south India, making somewhere around Rs 50 crore. The film has received rave reviews from critics, owing to its special effects and VFX. Audiences, too, have lapped the film up, enabling Baahubali to sky-rocket in terms of box office collections.

After its first weekend, the earnings of Baahubali are supposed to be somewhere around Rs 160 crore, a feat that is yet un-reached by any Indian film. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to reveal the box office figures:

 

Directed by SS Rajamouli, the film stars Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia in pivotal roles. Baahubali has reportedly been made on a budget of Rs 250 crore. And if the initial trends are anything to go by, the film has already managed to earn Rs 160 crore in three days of its release, and the earnings are expected to go higher.

Baahubali has been shot in Tamil and Telugu simultaneously, and dubbed in Hindi. In north India, Karan Johar donned the producer's hat for the film. The filmmaker, too, voiced his feelings on Twitter:
