My girlfriend and I have been together for three years. When I moved to the city she was actually one of the first people I ever met, and a lot of her friends over the time have become my friends. Now, in our relationship things started off good but there was constant tension. I had a much higher sex drive than hers, and she on the other hand only wanted sex like twice a month. Aside from that another big problem was that she wanted to spend a lot of time together doing stuff.
For example, she is a big fan of the TV show Myth Busters, I am not. If it’s on and I am eating something I don’t mind watching it, but she would want me to sit and watch every episode with her, when instead I preferred we watched TV shows that we both liked, or watched the ones we each only liked on our own time.
It got to a point where she broke up with me. I ended up telling my friends that I thought we broke up over silly things that they could have been fixed, and that I was planning on proposing to her. Well, she ended up finding out that I said that, and we got back together, and have resolved many of our earlier problems.
I ended up proposing, introduced her to my parents, she introduced me to hers. And we are now on path to a big Indian wedding… Until I now recently found out that after she broke up with me she ended up having a fling with some British dude from her office. Now a couple of things that really make me upset, one she never told me, I only found out because her friend’s boyfriend told me. Second, she was the one that she needs a huge emotional investment from someone before she can have sex with them. In our relationship, we did not have sex till 6 months in. With this British dude? She jumped into bed with him a couple of days after breaking up with me. Oh and the best part? She still works with this guy.
Right now there is a part of me that wants to call the whole thing off. Would it be smart given her dishonesty? Or am I going to far?
tl;dr- girlfriend broke up with me, slept with another dude now got back together with me after finding out I was going to propose
