Yakoob Memon, brother of Tiger Memon, convicted in 1993 mumbai blast case has been convicted to a death sentence by the apex court of India.
However, according to the media, hanging him will result in widespread discontent among the muslim community and will 'send them a wrong signal'.
According to them, a convict should always get a soft sentence if he/she is a muslim and its necessary to do so, so as to keep the faith of muslims in our judiciary intact.
