VizagRocks Posted July 17, 2015 Report Posted July 17, 2015 NRN was right to bring this up. But there are innovative startups in India. maybe not in his home city Bangalore. I don't know. There is one exciting startup in Computer Vision in Chennai. They already have their beta product with a bunch of companies using it. There's another innovative manufacturing startup that lets people customize their electronics. I thought Kochi will take the lead, really in innovative startups. But I guess its upto the 4 awesome cities + may be Bangalore.
donganaaK Posted July 17, 2015 Author Report Posted July 17, 2015 innovation is overrated man. I'm sure you think Tesla is an innovative company. It may be true at some level, but apart from Google, no corporation can qualify to be called as that. IBM and Intel can, but they don't make consumer products. Innovation needs a steady flow of cash, and a network of institutes sharing information freely. It will not happen in the closed corporate environment. Atleast technological innovation, cannot. Narayana Murthy can be asked to donate to IISc than to Harvard. But then I guess he needs his son, daughter to graduate from there. its certainly not over rated man .... innovation is what's driving the US economy for over a century now ( also , the whole world ) .... the've consistently come up with innovative products that changed the face of the world .... motor cars , Electricity generator , nuclear fuel , computer chips , space travel ,biotechnology , internet just to name a few .... we would have still been in the dark ages if not for these inventions and its not a coincidence that a majority of these have come from the US
