I am a South Indian from Bangalore who has lived in Delhi. I currently reside outside the country and here are my thoughts. I have both North Indian and South Indian friends and hang out with them all the time. I realize that the North South divide is not just a physical divide. It is a divide in every aspect of life and in a sense that divide should actually dictate physical boundaries. A whore and housewife do not go together ( I am not saying that North Indian women are whores and South Indians are nice as there are whores everywhere).

As a Kannadiga, I do get annoyed with Tamils sometimes (or Tambis) as someone mentioned here, but then I quarrel with my brother too all the time. I never hate any South Indian to the extent that I want to see harm done to them. Also, I am glad that the LTTE is gone, but feel bad for the innocent Tamils that suffered. But I would not mind if someone treated the North Indians the same way the Nazis treated the Jews.

I have an incident to report. I cannot tell where (it was outside India) or why, but the other day we were playing together with Pakistanis, Bangladeshis, and Lankans. At one one point there was an argument. Pakistanis who were lesser in number started beating up a Punjabi and started pissing on a Indian flag. I somehow was not bothered by it. In fact a bunch of us South Indians helped the Pakistanis beat up the Punjabi and the other North Indians trying to help him. I have never felt as good as I felt that day.

In conclusion, India should not be one country. Kashmir should be liberated, North East India should be separated, and South India should be made a separate country. Whatever is left can be called India or whatever.
