JANASENA Posted July 18, 2015 Report Posted July 18, 2015 Opening Day Box Office Collection: 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' Becomes Highest Opener of 2015 but Fails to Beat 'Baahubali', 'Happy New Year' Record Ankita Mehta Share on Google+ Bajrangi Bhaijaan Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan and child artist Harshaali Malhotra in "Bajrangi Bhaijaan"Youtube screenshot "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" has opened to fantastic response at the box office, making it Salman Khan's second highest opener, until now. But the film failed to beat SS Rajamouli's "Baahubali - the Beginning" (Bahubali) opening day box office collection record. "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" starring Salman, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Harshaali Malhotra and Nawazuddin Siddiqui minted approximately Rs27.5 crore on the first day at the box office. "#BajrangiBhaijaan Fri ₹ 27.25 cr [pre-Eid]. SUPERB... Today onwards [Eid], biz should only zoom upwards... #Kick ₹ 26.40 cr [pre-Eid]," box office analyst Taran Adarsh. "The FANTASTIC pre-Eid biz of #BajrangiBhaijaan clearly indicates Salman's star power. Sat, Sun, Mon biz will be ROCKING. WOM is super!" he added. The film registered good occupancy on first Friday, but due to Ramazan (Ramadan) it fared in Rs 27.5 crore. The film was expected to beat the opening day box office collection record of "Baahubali" and Shah Rukh Khan's "Happy New Year", but unfortunately, it failed to do so. However, it has become Salman's highest opener beating his last year's Eid release "Kick" record. "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" also broke the records of Aamir Khan's "PK" first day box office collection record in India. "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" has become the second highest opener of 2015 and eight highest opener of all time. Meanwhile, "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" shattered the opening day record of Bollywood film "ABCD 2" starring Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor to take the top slot. "ABCD 2" was the highest opener Bollywood film of 2015 with Rs14.3 crore, until the release of "Bajrangi Bhaijaan". Bhajrangi bhaijaan also released in 4500+ screens world wide but still it couldn't make it. Simple.
