siru Posted July 23, 2015 Report Posted July 23, 2015 After the US left Iraq, The Shia militants with the backing of Shia govt in Iraq, murdered 1000s of innocent Sunnis Sunnis who were part of Saddam's govt, fled the country to Syria, a sunni majority state but ruled by Shia leader Al Bashar. The sunnis from Iraq joined forces with Sunnis in Syria and started the war against Al Bashar. After gaining significant territories in Syria, the group started to advance into Iraq. The ill trained Iraqi army which comprised of Sunnis were no match to ISIS. Now the ISIS started to return the favor by killing any and all the Shias they could capture along the way. So the way I look at it, This is a conflict between two groups..Shias and Sunnis There are no heroes and no villains. The best thing that the West can do is stay away from the region.. Let them fight. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVO4a5gOorc

siru Posted July 23, 2015 Author Report Posted July 23, 2015 But who gives oil for less price good question.. US thought that by removing the sunni govt led by Saddam and installing a puppet shia govt.. they could control the Oil in Iraq But the US under estimated the capabilities of the Sunni minority. I guess they overlooked the fact that the bordering Syria is a Sunni majority.
