puli_keka Posted October 3, 2015 Report Posted October 3, 2015 GUNTUR: First Additional District Special Judge G Gopinath here on Thursday granted conditional bail to the three accused, who were arrested in connection with the suicide case of Rishiteswari, a B Arch student of Acharya Nagarjuna University (ANU). While sanctioning the bail, the court asked them to appear in the Pedakakani police station, where the case was registered, on every Monday between 10 am to 11 am for four weeks, not to enter the premises of ANU for one month and also to surrender the passport in the court concerned. The three - Srinivas, Jaicharan and Hanisha - who were arrested under section 306 of the IPC and also the Prevention of Ragging Act, were in remand for the last 75 days and were lodged in District Jail in Guntur. The court, which had dismissed their bail petitions twice earlier, however, sanctioned conditional bail in their third attempt. Advocates of the accused sought bail as the investigation in the case is almost complete. However, the Additional Public Prosecutor as well as senior advocate Y Koteswara Rao representing Muralikrishna, father of Rishiteswari, objected to the same and asserted that the investigation is yet to be completed. However, the court, observing that there were no further arrests in the case, sanctioned conditional bail to the accused. When contacted, Koteswara Rao alleged that the police, succumbing to the pressure from ruling party leaders and government, are trying to dilute the case.
