India’s media have jumped on the story that Prime Minister Modi invited Baahubali star Prabhas to meet him on Sunday at his official residence at 7, Race Course Road in New Delhi. Every single news report I’ve read went with the angle that Prabhas humbly asked the PM to watch his movie. Now call me an ignorant foreigner if you like, but I’m shocked that no one has picked up on the real story, which is this: as they shook hands for their photo op, Modi told Prabhas that he hasn’t bothered to see his movie. Right to his face. What?! Modi then added insult to injury by explaining that he’s been “busy,” and that he would maybe get around to watching the movie at some point if he has time. The guy just spent 3 years busting his butt making this movie, this “magnum opus,” as almost everyone has been calling it, and you can’t manage to find a few lousy hours to watch it before he shows up at your home? Or even to politely lie and say you did? Really? When Modi invites Sachin or Dhoni over does he tell them, “hey, nice to meet you but I don’t really like cricket”? I think not. Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar was so taken aback by Modi’s ill behavior that he said: “Narendra Modi’s tone and tenor was unbecoming of a Prime Minister.” OK, I actually took that out of context. Nitish Kumar was responding to an insult Modi had hurled at him later the same day. But I like to think that if Kumar had been present during the Prabhas snub he would have used the same disapproving words. So how did Prabhas react? How would you react if you were dissed by a guy who is 30 years older than you and a full head of height shorter, and you’ve got 56 inch biceps and the proven (on screen) ability to carry what looked like a 2-1/2 ton shivudu up a freaking waterfall? I know you’re hoping that Prabhas gave Modi a prime minister-sized butt kicking, but he didn’t. He’s far too polite for that. So maybe he responded with a snappy retort like “Didn’t see my movie? Well I didn’t vote for you and I never will.” No, again. sorry. Here’s what Prabhas did instead– when asked by reporters about the incident he said: “This the best day in my life. I am his very big fan and I can never forget this day I met him (Modi).” Wow! Talk about turning the other cheek! Talk about swallowing your pride for the good of the nation! Prabhas could have snapped Modi in two like a cheap pencil, but he had the grace and good manners to instead just move on and pretend nothing had happened. Mr. Modi clearly dodged a bullet. Imagine if he’d invited Salman Khan over instead and did the same thing to him. I’d wager the Indian media would now be reporting a very, very different story.

donganaaK Posted July 28, 2015 Report Posted July 28, 2015 yes we dont know what happened actually Modi is humble as far as I know when he met me last time he was very respectful for all and prabhas too humble aina he speaks his mind most of the times , lopala unnadi cheppi pada dobbuthaadu , that was one of his biggest drawbacks during the last campaign ... for example 2011 lo muslim cleric gaadu okadu ah muslim topi pettukomani isthey he refused to wear it just for the sake of it , and ilaantivi chaala cases unnay face paina opinion cheppesi trouble lo padinavi ...this is just one of the examples http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/Narendra-Modi-refuses-to-put-on-skull-cap-offered-by-Muslim-cleric/articleshow/10040530.cms
