The existing policy is devised by Kiran Kumar Reddy government in 2012. Deputy Chief Minister and education minister Kadiam Srihari, who announced the policy, said, the government will reimburse full fee for all the students who secure ranks below 10,000 in common entrance tests (CETs) like Eamcet, Icet etc and take admissions in convenor quota in the counselling conducted by the government. For those above 10,000 ranks, the government will reimburse fee up to a maximum limit of Rs 35,000 and any excess fee over this amount in a college in which the student takes admission, has to be borne by the students themselves. This is applicable to students from BC, EBC and Minorities categories.
