dalapathi Posted August 4, 2015 Report Posted August 4, 2015 Hyderabad, Aug 4: Thomson, a Technicolor group brand, has entered into a licensing agreement with Resolute Electronics Pvt Ltd for the manufacture of Thomson LED TVs and large home appliances in India. The products will be manufactured by Resolute at its existing facility here. “We will invest Rs. 300 crore in expanding this facility over the next three years, besides spending Rs. 50 crore in marketing Thomson products,” A Gopal Krishna, CEO of Resolute Electronics, told newspersons at a press conference here on Tuesday. The proposed production line for Thomson would provide direct employment to 500. Resolute has signed an exclusive agreement with Technicolor S.A. that will enable the company to use the Thomson brand for the LED TV range and other large home appliances. According to Manuele Wahl, Senior Vice-President, Technicolor, the size of the Indian consumer market was pegged at $12.5 billion per annum with a growth of 10 per cent. “`It is poised to become one of the five largest markets in the world and we are happy to launch the Thomson brand to offer best-in-class technology and innovation in home entertainment to Indian consumers,’’ she said. K T Rama Rao, Minister for IT, Govt of Telangana, said the `pro-industry’ attitude of his Government was attracting investors. ``We are in talks with some other mobile makers and Micromax and Celkon have already invested in Telangana,’’ he said.
