This project was seen necessary in view that the population of Hyderabad was forecasted to reach 13.6 million by the year 2021. Centre Kargil valla nashtapoyindi kabatti ippude Metro vaddu..inko 2 yrs lo cheptham.. temporary ga MMTS nadupukondi ani 167 cr ichindi. Parallel ga time waste kakunda state and centre tho oka nodal agency form chesi feasiblity study cheyamani cheppindi and also directed the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation which was already active by that time to conduct a survey on the project for metro projects in Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai, Jaipur, Bangalore, Gurgaon, Kochi etc. State & Centre partnership aithe project delay avuthundani CBN PPP model propose chesadu. Vajpayee ki CBN meeda nammakam kabatti (Hitec City PPP model success) proceed annadu. In the July-2010 rebidding process, Larsen & Toubro (L&T) emerged as the lowest bidder for the ₹121.32 billion (US$1.9 billion) project. L&T came forward to take up the work for about ₹14.58 billion (US$230 million) as viability gap funding as against the sanctioned ₹48.53 billion (US$760 million). Bhoomi Puja(shankusthapana) for the project was conducted on 26 April 2012
