No, I'm not following US presidential elections, because Canadian federal elections are on this year, and it is much more intriguing. Even the most conservative candidate sounds more leftist than the democratic candidate in the US.

 

I just based my statement on Trump's public persona of a redneck billionaire. Just a little while earlier, I browsed through Donald Trump's campaign site, and found that he's running on the single agenda of immigration. I'm not surprised.

 

I think immigration is not the big ticket political issue that Donald Trump thinks it is. Except for White racists, he's unlikely to poll in huge numbers if it comes down to him and any democratic candidate.

 

Immigration is different in different western countries. Its not any easy to immigrate to the US (legal), than it is to the UK/Canada/Australia. In fact, it is tougher. I understand the concern on H1B/H1 limits, but I'm not very sure of the details of those concerns.

 

As far as illegal immigration is concerned, does Donald Trump think enough people care about to vote on it?

 

I also checked out sites of other candidates I know - Hillary Clinton, and Beernie Sanders. Hillary - meh. apart from the woman card, she sounds tired and unimaginative. 

 

But Bernie Sanders. Wow man! He is going after some really interesting issues and makes no bones about listing them on his website. Though I disagree with some details of his wall street shakeover, I find his attacking the problem of corporate campaign contributions most encouraging.

 

He sounds like Ron Paul did in 2008 - the last time I followed an US presidential election. But he's more right than Ron Paul on specifics. Ron Paul got himself tied up with silly utterances on gold standard. Does this guy have any chance at becoming the US president?

If Donald Trump does win, it will mark the beginning of the end for the USA. Not because his immigration policy will destroy US. It'll hardly make a dent.

 

But him winning means, idiots outnumber the reasonable in the US. and its not an easy place to come back from.

Being awestruck is different from being in love.

 

US is not some special place in the universe that needs preserving, and nourishing. In fact, compared to western liberal standards, the political discourse in the US sounds like cavemen conferences.

US is a special country- can you tell me any other country in modern world that is better thn usa. dont say ireland etc compare apples to apples .. 

 

this country is the only one in the world that would give any person with right aspirations, a path to achieve his/her dream .. . .

 

and yes these illegal immigrants are turning usa to 3rd world country ..and i dont want to see that. i want to preserve the greatness of this country
