Thats the majority combo in case of Arranged marriages. After Doctor girls dad... Hands up(money done) after MBBS itself ...cant invest much on higher specializations...the Rich engineers family comes and LIFTS......adi normal arranged marriage story...i have seen 2 in friends/family.

My sister and bro in law are doctors in TX , i know a couple of my sisters classmates also. Mee kochen ki straight answer aithe no deeniki mainly two answers 1. Doctors feel they are more educated than an equivalent engg (Demand/Supply 500 engg coll vs 20 or so medical but soon the numbers will change). 2. Higher Incomes(The gap is smaller in India).

 

Second reason enti ante vallaki oncall emergencies and night duties ekkuva so they feel a doctor spouse will understand more and be less demanding in the household. 

 

US lo salary gap is very high hence ego problems are more, Na patha client lo oka manager unde vadu and valla wife is a doc. Eppudu edustha undevadu my wife makes more than me and edo PMP etc certs rasi IT lo bagane salary ochedi vadiki.

 

Oka average software engg ki 100-120 k madhya salary aithe oka doc ki easy ga it will be above 270-280k even in mediocre specialties,  

 

So ee combination i only see in the below cases:

 

a. as boston babu pointed out rich engineer raises low income doc

b. Guy is Citizen in US and hence can provide GC for easy US settlement

c. Love marriage
