[b]Brightest Innovators Under the Age of 35
Established in 1999 as the TR100, Technology Review's TR35 list recognizes the outstanding innovators under the age of 35 each year. The awards span a wide range of fields, including biotechnology, materials, computer hardware, energy, transportation, and the Internet. The Indian edition of Technology Review is creating the India TR35 list to acknowledge the outstanding innovators under the age of 35 from India. This list showcases individuals whose superb technical work holds great promise to shape the next decades. The 2010 class of India TR35 winners have all demonstrated either development of new technology or the creative application of existing technologies to solve problems from the shores of India. The TR35 winners are under the age 35 as of October 1, 2010. We followed the same elaborate process that the TR35 adopts in selection of its winners. We sought the nominations for the 2010 class of India TR35 between September-December 2009. The nominations were then scrutinized and sent to a specially constituted Jury for the evaluation. The value of the candidate’s work was assessed by the Jury members in a number of areas like the impact of work to the industry and society, ingenuity, timeliness, amongst other considerations. The Editorial board then arrived at the final list of winners. The India TR35 list will now be an annual exercise and we believe the TR35 members are out there to change the world.
