Abusive Youth Caught With Girl's Fb Post

A motorcyclist named Saravjeet Singh (26) was arrested within 24 hours after allegedly eve-teasing and threatening a 20-year-old Delhi University student on Sunday, following Facebook post by the girl went viral. The post was shared over 63,000 times so far. 

The incident happened at a busy traffic junction in Tilak Nagar on Sunday while the girl was crossing the road. Saravjeet who was riding Royal Enfield was in an urgency to cross the road and almost rammed her. War of words began between them, when the girl told him to follow the traffic signal. He then began passing vulgar comments at her. The accused even told her to escort him on his motorcycle. 

The girl captured him on her mobile phone to which Saravjeet threatened her with dire consequences. A case of sexual harassment was registered at the Tilak Nagar police station on the motorcyclist and police could catch him after the girl's FB post went viral.

More than the eve-teasing incident, the girl said it was the response of the other motorists that traumatized her. The police have announced a reward of Rs 5,000 for her brave act.

“I completely deny whatever allegations she has leveled. I never tried to threaten or abuse her. I did not want to break traffic rules and wanted to take a left for which I needed space. I only referred to her as ‘Tu’ and had a loud tone. She then challenged me saying ‘I’ll click your picture and watch what will I do’, Singh told ABP News.

 

"She is affiliated to AAP. It would have been someone else if I wasn't there that day, she just did this to become famous," he added.
