Unless you work in the Financial sector, its hard to find jobs in Canada. Even in the financial sector, US has a lot more jobs than Canada.

Not in the same range as it was back in 2008. Every 8 years ki economy matramu down avutundi, Y2K bust in 2000, Lehman Bros and the financial collapse in 2008, we are due for one in 2016. But it won't be the same as it was back in 2008. 

 

On the other hand, truth be said IT is a dying industry. More and more H4 EADs are going to flood the market, and more and more F1 EAD students will come into the work place too soon. Above all this, outsourcing of employees from India by companies like TCS, Infy etc where they pay their employees $20/hr and charge the client $100/hr is only going to increase. It's a death knell for IT industry esp. those who are on visas like H1B etc and contracting. 

 

Best to change your career, I am thinking of doing that myself but not sure which direction to go.
