Aiming to enhance the country's image as a friendly investment destination, the government along with World Bank has released a state-wise report on the ease of doing business - a report in which Gujarat has topped with a score of 71.14%.

Andhra Pradesh has bagged the second rank with 70.12%. Jharkhand is third with 63.09%; Chhattisgarh is fourth with 62.45% and Madhya Pradesh is fifth with 62.00% scrore.

The report assesses implementation status of 98-point reform measures across the following eight areas: Setting up a business, Allotment of land and obtaining construction permit, Complying with environment procedures, Complying with labour regulations, Obtaining infrastructure related utilities, Registering and complying with tax procedures, Carrying out inspections and Enforcing contracts

Andhra Pradesh Good Practices: 
Single Desk Policy 2015-20 of the Government of Andhra Pradesh has been formulated to create a facilitative ecosystem to provide all clearances/approvals within 21 working days to set up an industry. All relevant competent authorities are mandated to receive applications and process the same only via Single Desk mechanisms. Single Desk Mechanism provides for State clearances required for starting an industry across pre establishment and pre operation phases. A Chief Minister�s dashboard has been designed as a tool for effective monitoring of the applications received.

న్యూ ఢిల్లీ, సెప్టెంబర్ 14: దేశంలో ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్‌కు అరుదైన గుర్తింపు లభించింది. ప్రపంచ బ్యాంకు తాజాగా విడుదల చేసిన వ్యాపార అనుకూల రాష్ట్రాల జాబితాలో ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్‌ రెండో స్థానంలో నిలిచింది. ఈ జాబితాలో గుజరాత్‌ మొదటి స్థానం దక్కించుకుంది. గుజరాత్, ఏపీ తరువాతి స్థానాల్లో జార్ఖండ్, చత్తీస్‌గఢ్, మధ్యప్రదేశ్ రాష్ట్రాలు నిలిచాయి. కాగా, ఈ జాబితాలో తెలంగాణకు 13వ స్థానం దక్కింది. చివరి స్థానంలో అరుణాచల్ ప్రదేశ్ నిలిచింది. బీజేపీ, ఆ పార్టీ మిత్రపక్షాలు అధికారంలో ఉన్న రాష్ట్రాలు టాప్ ర్యాంకులు సాధించాయి. పరిశ్రమలకు భూ కేటాయింపులు, పన్నుల విధానం, నిర్మాణ అనుమతులు, పర్యావరణ అనుమతులను ప్రపంచ బ్యాంకు పరిగణనలోకి తీసుకుని రాష్ట్రాలకు ర్యాంకింగ్స్ ఇచ్చింది. అదేవిధంగా ప్రపంచ వ్యాపార అనుకూల దేశాల్లో భారత్‌కు 142వ స్థానం దక్కింది. జనవరి 1 నుంచి జూన్ 30 వరకు పరిస్థితులను అంచనా వేసి ప్రపంచ బ్యాంకు ఈ నివేదికను తయారు చేసింది.
