micxas Posted September 15, 2015 Report Posted September 15, 2015 President Pranab Mukherjee said on Monday that India was trying to get Hindi the status of an official language of the United Nations. He was speaking after conferring awards, on the occasion of ‘Hindi Divas,’ on individuals and government organisations for taking special efforts to promote Hindi. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said “Hindi was not getting its due respect” and some “so-called intellectuals continued to promote English.” Though Tamil was considered the oldest Indian language after Sanskrit, Hindi had the widest reach and was therefore acknowledged as the eldest sister of all Indian languages. He requested government servants to sign their files in Hindi. The President said Hindi had achieved a number of milestones since Independence and was credited as being the vehicle of Indian thought and culture. It was the factor that linked our traditional knowledge, ancient civilisation and modern progress, Mr. Mukherjee said. “Our efforts should be to increase the use of Hindi in science and technology so that the participation of all, including the rural population, can be ensured in the progress of the country.” The President said that literature pertaining to technical knowledge should be made available in Hindi and other Indian languages. Mr. Singh said he had nothing against any language. But Hindi was the language that connected every part of the country. “ Demand to make Hindi our official language came first from non-Hindi speaking leaders like Bal Gangdadhar Tilak,” he said.

micxas Posted September 15, 2015 Author Report Posted September 15, 2015 If Rajnath does not understand English, he can't ask his officers to sign in Hindi. English is also an official language of India. Hence it is not necessary to sign in Hindi. No illegal orders please! :giggle: Points 1635 Vvishwanath BJP came to power on the promise of Development. People are interested in their Vikas. Rajnathji how signing in Hindi is going to make any difference. Why not then allow everyone to sign in their mother tongue. Please spare the country from your fool-hardy. Please try to do justice to the post to which you have been appointed. Hope you are listening.

micxas Posted September 15, 2015 Author Report Posted September 15, 2015 Tamila sodharudi avedhana "Though Tamil was considered the oldest Indian language after Sanskrit"... after Sanskrit???...I thought Tamil language is the oldest of all Indian languages... In my opinion Sanskrit is NOT original Indian language; it has close relationship with German... After BJP came to power, Hindi is being promoted excessively. Hindutva and Hindi are no longer BJP’s hidden agenda, it is done openly now. Every time non-Hindi speaking Indian citizen is reminded that Hindi is widely spoken language. This is what The great Annadurai said “It is claimed that Hindi should be the common language because it is spoken by the majority. Why should we then claim the tiger as our national animal instead of the rat which is so much more numerous? Or the peacock as our national bird when the crow is ubiquitous?” J@#D
