Economies are ranked on their ease of doing business, from 1–189. A high ease of doing business ranking means the regulatory environment is more conducive to the starting and operation of a local firm. The rankings are determined by sorting the aggregate distance to frontier scores on 10 topics, each consisting of several indicators, giving equal weight to each topic. The rankings for all economies are benchmarked to June 2014.

This report was carried out by the world bank at the request of central govt, so states can know where they stand on the criteria for ease of business set by world bank.

 

Edho iPass ani okati announce chesi, greatest policy anukunte saripothada? This report shows where TG govt lacks, and they will fix those holes and become better.

This is one of the best reports to come out in the recent times. TamilNadu govt has already fixed most of the issues pointed out by the world bank. Which means it will have better percentage next time.

 

Same for TG govt. They will also get better.

 

Just accept CBN is savvy enough to fix those holes before the report went out. It shows he is serious about what he is doing.

by the way, Pakistan getting a better rank than India is not surprising at all. India is that bad.

 

The only thing good about India is that it has lot of cash flow, because of its huge population and size.

 

but Modi seems to be hellbent on making India a better place to do business.

 

I think this october edition of doingbusiness report will have India jumpt atleast 30-40 places in the rankings.

the report is not such a big deal. but it is quite useful because Modi wants to make India a better place to do business in.

 

Since many of the requirements to start and sustain business means dealing with the states, he wanted to know individual ranking of the states. World bank helped him with that by sending out a questionnaire to all state govts, which they filled and the rank was based on their response.
