Cambridge varsity to set up centre in Amaravati

 

 

 

Hyderabad, Sep 16: Senior TDP leader and Union Minister Sujana Chowdary has announced that Andhra Pradesh government has inked pact with Cambridge University, United Kingdom. 

Speaking to media in Hyderabad today, Sujana Chowdary said that Cambridge University has agreed to commence operations from the new capital Amaravati. The university will work with state government in education and others sectors. 

He said that talks were being held with NITI Aayog on special status to AP. Commenting on interlinking Krishna and Godavari rivers, Sujana Chowdary said that Chandrababu stood on par with Sir Arthur Cotton who constructed barrages across Krishna and Godavari rivers. 

Meanwhile, HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao said that a three-member committee would be constituted to hold negotiations with Cambridge University. He announced that the university delegation would soon visit the state. 

Ganta said that 1,000 acre land was allocated for Education City in Vizag. He said that all the reputed universities in the world would be invited to set up campuses in Education City. 

He said that Central and Tribal Universities would be started in the soon.
