US is just a mostly redneck country, obsessed with religion, beyond few pockets of awesomeness in the north east and west coast.

 

They did not go beyond race. If you like to claim that, then even India has gone beyond caste/religion. Govt doesn't differentiate based on it, except for reservations, which even US govt does, in the way of affirmative action.
