Two persons were killed in fresh faction feuds which erupted in Kurnool district in Andhra Pradesh on Monday.

While one of the victims belonged to the Congress party and was said to be a follower of former minister Kotla Suryaprakash Reddy, another victim was said to belong to a group owing allegiance to TDP leader and deputy chief minister KE Krishnamurthy.

While Nasir Bhasha belonged to the ruling TDP, Kambagiri Swamy who was killed in the faction fight belonged to the Congress.

Eight others were also injured in the clash between the two factions. Two of them are said to be critical in the Dhone government hospital.

The two groups had a tiff on Sunday night and on Monday morning it took a violent turn as both of them attacked each others houses with stones. They beat up each other with sticks. The district SP rushed forces to Munimadugu village where the incident took place. All Congress activists in the village reportedly fled from the village. Tension continues to prevail there despite heavy police deployment.
