US lo single income people andharu....ki same problem man....

including u....

so nuvvu kuda pelli chesukoku....

generalize cheyatam tappu.  oka vela frustration lo aa post vesavu ante na migata post anta ignore cheyyi.. ledu mind senses anni control lo vundi aa message post chesavante na kinda message chudu...

( of course i dont like bragging but since you have generalized , here is my story in brief)

came to US in 2011 for masters ( 1 year Executive business degree) for a prestigious university .. took coaching for gmat and wrote GMAT 2 times so for coaching it was 25,000 rupees and for gmat exam fee 25000 ( for both attempts) so thats 50,000 rupees.

used another 20,000 for shopping before reaching us.

and another 1.5 lacks converted to travellers checks.

and 50,000 rupees for tickets.

except 1.5 lacks rupees for travellers checks everything else was taken from my savings account( i had been working in india for 4 uyears until then so I could save some money)

so that 1.5 Lacks in negative.

then one prof from the univ promised 100% scholarship ( in state tuition fees covered and out of state tuition fee 75% covered) . so the rest 25% was about 7 lacks ( since it is a business degree it is a bit expensive)

so I took a loan of total 20Lacks ( intini takattu petti mari) and got the check of 7 lacks converted to us dollars to pay my fees.

two days after my classes started in the universty, the professor who promised me the scholar ship had changed his research and so didnt hire me . his replacement hired me but he didnt give me any scholarshipts. instead he have me an hourly job of 8 dollars for 20 hours on campus. and promised me that he would give me scholarship from the second semester. But he never did that.

bottom line, for my tuition fees I had to pay 15 lacks in total. ( after working 20 hours in campus and remaining off campus)

so far 15 lacks + 1.5 lacks in loans.

business school trip to London - tickets and other expenses total 50000 rupees..

and add other miscellenious expenses

in total I had a loan of close to 20 lacks by the end of my school.  the cool off period to repay the loan given by the bank is 1 year , so after that 1 year with interest the total loan was 24 lacks ( i didnt get job until 6 months after my graduation)

I got my first job, in Jan 2012.

by the end of may 2013, I paid a total of 23, 450,000 rupees to repay my loan and get  the documents of my house back from the bank .

so yes, you can repay the loan , it is practical and definitely possible. It is tough , you got to be very very miser in spending the money.

Good luck

Its been a long struggle for you...

Take care...

whuy sorry,,. it worked ouyt well in the end ..

and yes it was a struggle and not something i didnt anticipate,, i was expecting it to happen

if you really want to settle the things before getting married then you need to make some very very harsh decisions,

if you have premiums on a big brand new car, sell it off and buy a used car,,

thats your start.. anyway every person has his/her own way of solving financial issues,... yours should be on your own terms,.,
