The package announced on Tuesday includes Rs 54,713 crore for highways, Rs 21,476 crore for petroleum and gas, Rs 16,130 crore for electricity, Rs 13,820 crore for rural roads, Rs 8,870 crore for doubling and electrification of railway lines, Rs 3,094 crore for farmers' welfare and Rs 2,700 crore for airports, including construction of a new airport in Patna. The PM's big political push seemed to go down well with the crowds that came to the two rallies he addressed as he pledged to change the destiny of the state. "Our total financial assistance to Bihar will go up to Rs 1.65 lakh crore," he said amid applause. "I promised you to give a package of Rs 50,000 crore. But when I learned the nitty-gritty of governance at the Centre after becoming PM, I realized nothing concrete could be done for the state with Rs 50,000 crore. I could not talk about the package during my last visit to Bihar on August 9 since Parliament was in session. Here I am in the land of Babu Kunwar Singh and Jayaprakash Narayan to fulfill my promise," Modi said. 1.25 lakh crore + 40,000 crore of the existing projects etc. This totals to Rs. 1.65 lakh crore for the development of Bihar: PM Entha next month Bihar lo elections unna.. antha pedda package ivvadam great thing by Modi because they actually need that kind of money to develop bihar..
