Buy a home in the United States; or at the very least sign a long-term lease and then actually reside there. Work, bank, and invest in the United States. Acquire a state-issued driver's license. Join groups, organizations, religions, social and or charitable organizations, maintain relationships with close family members who are in the U.S. Prepare a will in the United States; obtain a re-entry permit if you will be outside the U.S. for more than six months; if you leave the U.S. for extended periods of time, store all your personal belonging in the U.S. Do not keep a permanent residence anywhere other than in the U.S. (vacation homes are all right).
