When Tamilnadu government made a statement about andhra will be no longer in part of tamilnadu... During that same period, telangana got freedom from Nizam rulers.. Andhra concerned people consulted Nehru and made a proposal that Telangana & Andhra will be united and we will form (Andhrapradesh). Even Telangana concerned people did not trust andhra, Anyhow, Nehru mentioned clearly , This Telangana & andhra should be together like wife& husband relationship .. If anyone wants to be separate, they can separate from Andhrapradesh at any time.

Prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru initially was skeptical of merging Telangana with Andhra State, fearing a "tint of expansionist imperialism" in it. He compared the merger to a matrimonial alliance having "provisions for divorce" if the partners in the alliance cannot get on well. 1969 Telangana Agitation: people of Telangana expressed dissatisfaction over how the agreements and guarantees were implemented. Discontent intensified in January, when the guarantees that had been agreed on were supposed to lapse. In 1969, Telangana agitation arose after students felt betrayed and ensuing battle with the government and the students, 369 students were killed in police firing.
