… చెప్పినట్టుగానే ఈ వేడుకలను అత్యంత ఘనంగా నిర్వహించారు. ఇంతవరకు బాగానే ఉన్నా… బతుకమ్మ సంబరాల్లో తన కూతురు, టీఆర్ఎస్ ఎంపీ కవిత ఆధ్వర్యంలో నడిచే తెలంగాణ జాగృతి సంస్థకు ప్రభుత్వం అత్యధిక ప్రాధాన్యం ఇచ్చిందనే వేరే చెప్పనవసరం లేదు. మిగతా ప్రముఖులను పట్టించుకోకుండా కేవలం కవితను బతుకమ్మ బ్రాండ్ అంబాసిడర్ గా చేయడంలో తెలంగాణ ప్రభుత్వాధినేత సక్సెస్ అయ్యారనే చెప్పాలి. గతేడాది ఇదే రకంగా కూతురికి బతుకమ్మ వేడుకల్లో పెద్దపీట వేసిన కేసీఆర్… ఈ సారి ఏకంగా ఆమె ఆధ్వర్యంలో నడుస్తున్న తెలంగాణ జాగృతి సంస్థకు బతుకమ్మ సంబురాల కోసం ఏకంగా రూ.10 కోట్లు ఇవ్వడం విమర్శలకు తావిస్తోంది. దీనిపై ప్రతిపక్షాలకు చెందిన పలువురు మహిళా నేతలు మండిపడుతున్నారు. బతుకమ్మ సంబరాల కోసం జాగృతి సంస్థకు రూ.10 కోట్లు ఇవ్వడం సరికాదని తెలంగాణ మహిళా కాంగ్రెస్ అధ్యక్షురాలు నేరెళ్ల శారద ప్రభుత్వాన్ని విమర్శించారు. టీ టీడీపీ మహిళా నేతలు సైతం ఇదే రకమైన అభిప్రాయాన్ని వెల్లడించారు. మరి ప్రభుత్వం కేటాయించిన 10 కోట్ల నిధులతో కవిత ఆధ్వర్యంలోని తెలంగాణ జాగృతి సంస్థ… బతుకమ్మ వేడుకలను ఎంత ఘనంగా నిర్వహిస్తుందో చూడాలి.

No, like last year and all other festivals this year, During 9 days the festival will be done in a grand way in the district head quarters and towns and each will get a pie of that 10 crore fund to organise batukamma like paying for grounds, lighting, bands, decorations etc.

HYDERABAD: The first Bathukamma festival in Telangana will be celebrated officially on a grand scale. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who reviewed the arrangements for the festival on Friday, released ` 10 crore for the same.

On Saddula Bathukamma festival, which will fall on Durgashtami day during Navaratri festival, Bathukamma will be celebrated in a rich manner on Tank Bund in the city this year. However, permanent arrangements will be made on Necklace Road for Bathukamma festival from next year onwards. The place will be named as Bathukamma Square.

The Chief Minister directed the officials to send ` 10 lakh each to all the district to celebrate Bathukamma across the State. “This time, Bathukamma will be celebrated in a manner that it should attract the attention of not only the country, but the entire world,” he said.

As Bathukamma was primarily women’s festival, Rao has decided to invite prominent women personalities across the country and also one special guest from outside the country. “I will personally invite prominent women guests,” Rao told the officials.

However, the Chief Minister said that Chief Minister of other States including Jayalalithaa, Vasudhara Raje, Ananda Ben, Mamata Benerjeee and Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, Union Ministers, women Governors, prominent women like Kiran Bedi, Medha Patkar and Arundhati Roy would be invited. The Chief Minister invited women AIS officers and also state-cadre women officers to participate in Bathukamma festival in Hyderabad.

Saddula Bathukamma will be celebrated on Tank Bund this year. A large number of women will arrange around 25,000 Bathukammas at LB Stadium and bring them in a rally to Tank Bund. This time, the government will sponsor around 10,000 Bathukammas at LB Stadium. The required flowers like ‘tangedu and gunugu’ will be brought to Hyderabad by government.

A special dais will be erected on Tank Bund, where the prominent women guests will be seated. Then, the women folk will place the Bathukammas on Tank Bund and play with songs.

“Telangana sentiment and Bathukamma festival are inseparable. So, the government has decided to celebrate the festival in a grand manner,” the Chief Minister said.

Lighting and hoardings will be put up in Delhi, Shamshabad airport and Assembly building on all the nine-days highlighting Bathukamma.
