VIJAYAWADA/HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu's plan to run the administration from Vijayawada-Guntur region may not materialize till June 2016 as the AP Secretariat Employees' Association on Saturday made it clear that the government staff will not shift out of Hyderabad till the completion of the current academic year.

Representatives of secretariat employees met Naidu at his camp office in Vijayawada and conveyed their inability to relocate to Vijayawada-Guntur in the middle of the academic year. They sought time till April-May 2016 when the academic year concludes. They told Naidu that the academic career of their children will be affected if they move out of Hyderabad now.

The staff delegation was led by U Muralikrishna. The representatives wanted prop er accommodation and office facilities in Vijayawada before effecting mass transfer of employees. They also questioned the rationale of shifting to temporary accommodation pending construction of the capital city when Hyderabad is the joint capital for 10 years.

The representatives requested Naidu to allot land to all government employees in Amaravati. They also demanded that orders on pay revision commission be issued immediately .

"Other than salary and fitment, several recommendations of the PRC have been kept on hold. We have asked the chief minister to issue orders to implement the PRC recommendations in toto," said Muralikrishna.

The association leaders requested the CM to take steps for allotment of house sites in the capital region for the employees as they would be giving up their houses and other properties in Hyderabad.
