4Vikram Posted October 11, 2015 Report Posted October 11, 2015 As many of you know , Federal court has declared that the DHS rule which permits an extension of 17 months of OPT time to STEM graduates is invalid effective February 12, 2016. On Oct 7th, Jeh C. Johnson , Secretary of Homeland Security said that DHS will issue a public notice of a proposed rule to strengthen the OPT program for STEM students. This is a Great News! Since the deadline of Feb 12th is approaching, DHS has to act fast and publish this rule in October to avoid any issues for the current OPT students. Please stay tuned to H1B wiki for more updates.
