NTR clan surrenders to Naidu again

Sons of Telugu Desam Party founder-president and former chief minister N T Rama Rao have once again proved that they lack spine in taking revenge against their brother-in-law N Chandrababu Naidu, whose back-stabbing led to their father’s death.

They remained silent spectators to Naidu getting elected as TDP president unanimously for the eighth successive term without putting up even a small protest. On the other hand, NTR’s son Balakrishna said he would strive hard to bring the TDP back to power and make his “baava gaaru” (Naidu) as chief minister again. He predicted mid-term elections and said the party would strengthen under Naidu. “Posts are not important for me. My priority is to bring the party back to power,” he said.

His another son Nandamuri Harikrishna, who created ripples on Friday by saying NTR family members should not be used as pawns in political game, also surrendered to Naidu on Saturday, supporting the latter’s candidature for the party president post. And his son Jr NTR also made an electrifying speech, also predicted that Naidu would once again become the chief minister. “We are ready to fight till the last drop of our blood to see TDP again in power,” he said.

There were speculations that the NTR family would revolt against Naidu, by attending a meeting called by NTR’s daughter and central Minister of State for Human Resource Development D. Purandareswari in Prakasam district. But that proved a myth on Saturday,when NTR’s sons and Jr NTR shared the dais with Naidu, and exhorting party cadre to bring the party back to power in 2014.
