DudeBabu Posted October 14, 2015 Author Report Posted October 14, 2015 AP plans road to connect new capital In order to ensure smooth flow of vehicular traffic to the new state capital of Andhra Pradesh, the state government has decided to build a new road stretch for direct access from the Gannavaram airport to Amaravati avoiding traffic snarls in Vijayawada. In this connection, the capital road development authority (CRDA) has invited bids from companies to conduct a feasibility study and develop a design for the link road to Gannavaram airport from the proposed Vijayawada bypass road, which connects Chinna Avutupalli with Kaza. As a matter of fact, the construction work on the road stretch is currently underway and that CRDA wants to connect a link road from the Gannavaram airport to this stretch. There is a need to have convenient access to Amaravati from Gannavaram airport, and this link road would help in comfortable travel, besides decongestion of the Vijayawada road network. Currently, people reaching Amaravati from the Gannavaram airport have to travel via Vijayawada, Undavalli, Rayapudi, and Vykuntapuram, covering a distance of about 55 km. The successful bidder will have to submit a detailed project report (DPR) and a detailed design estimate including surveying, soil exploration, land acquisition, preparation of plans digitally and that the initial blueprint of the project has already been sent to the CM office for mandatory approval.
